Wire screen ZD04
Wire screen ZD04 specifications
Wire screen ZD04: Self-cleaning wire screen with straight wire for screening of difficult-to-screen material with medium and small grain sizes. The Wire Screen ZD04 is made of steel or stainless steel (rvs) and available in various configurations and sizes.
Special features: horizontally corrugated longitudinal wires with straight wire, designed to conquer clogging: ideal for sticky, difficult-to-screen materials where large size of the input and small size of output is expected that cause conventional screens to clog at wire intersections. For extra wear resistance, choose the option of cross wires cast in polyurethane (PU).
Application: sand, gravel and debris
Advantage: long service lives, constant wear profile, high impact resistance (breakage resistance).

Wire screens: wire screen, also called wire mesh, mesh sieves, screen mesh or screen media are part of the vibrating feeder in the hopper for prescreening material or for the secondary screeners on crushers or for the screen decks in screening equipment for your specific areas of use. They are used in various industries including mining, quarrying, construction, recycling, and aggregate production.
Function: the primary function of the wire screen in a screener or vibrating feeder is to separate material particles according to their size. As material feeds through the screener, the smaller particles pass through the openings in the wire screen, while larger particles remain on top and are discharged separately. By using a wire screen with a specific mesh size (opening size), the screener can achieve a desired final product size for the material passing through.
Design consideration: There are different designs which can be considered:
Mesh Size: The mesh size of the wire screen is critical for separation efficiency. A screen with a smaller mesh size will allow only very small particles to pass through, while a larger mesh size will allow larger particles to pass.
Wire Thickness: The thickness of the wires used in the screen (wire) affects its strength and durability. Thicker wires are generally more robust but may also have a slightly lower open area, potentially impacting throughput.
Weaving Pattern: The specific weaving pattern of the wires can influence factors like screen strength, opening size consistency, and potential blinding (material clogging the openings).
Types of wire screens: There are various types of wire screens used in screeners, each with its own advantages:
Woven Wire Mesh: The most common type, offering a balance of strength, durability, and open area.
Welded Wire Mesh: Stronger than woven mesh, but with a slightly lower open area due to the welding points.
Slotted Wedge Wire: Provides a precise and wear-resistant option for specific applications.
Punch Plate: Metal sheets with punched holes, good for heavy-duty applications with large particles.
Efficiency and cost savings: wire screens play a crucial role in ensuring efficient and productive material processing in screeners and crushers. Their ability to accurately separate materials, control size reduction, and improve product quality makes them a valuable asset in various crushing and screening applications.
